Brotherhood of St. Andrew
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is one of The Episcopal Church’s oldest ministries and also one of its most effective. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew has been bringing men to the knowledge of Jesus Christ for 133 years since its founding on Nov. 30, 1883 at St. James’ Episcopal Church in downtown Chicago. Men of the Brotherhood follow the tenants of regular Prayer, Study, and Service, to live a life closer to Christ.
Today, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew has grown to be a worldwide ministry with chapters in Africa, Japan, the Philippines, Great Britain, Canada, Haiti and the United States.
The St. Peters Chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew meets for breakfast the 3rd Friday of the month (from September through May) in Burns Hall at 8:00a.m. Meetings are informal and fun and usually consist of opening prayers, followed by a talk centered around a guest speaker.
Members of the Brotherhood cook and serve pancakes for the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and for a breakfast in conjunction with the Pirate's Run. All proceeds from these events are used to help support various outreach programs, local charities, and designated church projects. We also help with other church related ad hoc events. Our chapter of the Brotherhood invites all men of the parish to join us. If instrested, please contact Bill Dickson.
