Timothy McKee

Director of Music Ministries

Timothy McKee, a native of Fernandina Beach, grew up in First Baptist Church, graduated from FBHS, Stetson University, the University of Kansas and The Juilliard School. He did postgraduate study at the Royal School of Church Music and studied organ for a year in Paris with Marie-Claire Alain. He earned degrees in church music, organ and harpsichord and served churches in Missouri, New York and Connecticut. Previously he was Director of Music Ministries for Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra Beach and most recently for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Savannah, Georgia.  

​Tim is married to Mary Watanabe McKee, a Fulbright Scholar and doctoral graduate of The Juilliard School, a concert pianist, and piano teacher. Together they started the Amelia Arts Academy which provided art, dance and music programs to the Nassau County public schools and private lessons for low-income families. They have a son, Spencer, 16, who plays baseball and performs regularly as a classical pianist.
