St. Peter's Parish is involved in a great variety of outreach ministries, from local to worldwide. One of the best examples of our outreach is the St. Peters Mission Committee. In 1985 the St. Peters Mission Committee began repairing Caribbean churches damaged by hurricanes. To date there have been over 75 men and women who have participated in this mission, providing much-needed repairs to churches in 11 different parishes on six different islands. Projects have ranged from installing tile floors to replacing complete roofs. Very few of the participants are skilled tradespeople. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, ranging from doctors, lawyers, business executives, college professors, architects, to clergy, with a few actual skilled people mixed in. Volunteers not only give of their time but also pay all their own expenses for the trip. Not only has the Mission Committee traveled far and wide, but recently it was called upon to build a kayak and canoe storage facility and deck at Camp Weed. This group stands ready to serve when called.
There is also an annual Women's Mission Trip to Our Little Roses, a children's home for girls in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in February each year. Contact Annette Sines at or the Reverend Marcia King for more info.
