Youth - Lead.
We believe young people have gifts to share and an important place in the life of the Church. Through service, leadership, and worship, our youth are invited to use their gifts, take initiative, and make a difference in their church and community.

Acolyting
Being an acolyte is a wonderful way for youth and adults to serve and take on a leadership role in worship. At St. Bede’s, youth typically begin serving as acolytes in 5th grade and continue through high school graduation.
Youth acolytes begin each year with training in August, at the start of the school year. The regular youth acolyte season runs from August through May. Younger acolytes typically serve as torch bearers, carrying the candles, while some of our older and more experienced acolytes serve as crucifers, carrying the cross.
Acolytes are generally scheduled to serve in Sunday worship approximately once every 4–5 weeks throughout the school year. Youth also have opportunities to serve at special services, including Christmas Eve and Holy Week. Sign-ups for Christmas and Easter services are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Youth Leadership Team
Acolyting
The Youth Leadership Team gives high school students the opportunity to take an active role in shaping our youth ministry and serving our church community. Team members work together to plan events, build connections, support outreach, and create meaningful experiences for younger students and families.
Leadership opportunities may include Fellowship Coordinators, who help plan large-group games and activities; Service Coordinators, who organize outreach and service opportunities; and Children’s Ministry Coordinators, who assist with 3-4-5 ministry and family events. These are just a few ways students can get involved, share their ideas, and use their gifts to make a difference in our church community.
Who Can Apply?
Applications open each fall and are open to students in high school who actively participate in Sunday worship and youth ministry. Team members are expected to commit to monthly meetings, service, teamwork, and following through on their responsibilities.
Being part of the Youth Leadership Team is an opportunity to grow in faith, develop leadership skills, share your ideas, and make a lasting difference in the life of our church.
Interested in getting involved? Look for applications in the fall!

Youth Sunday
Our youth. Our voices. Our church.
Each spring, we celebrate Youth Sunday, a special opportunity for our students to take an active role in worship and share their gifts with our church family. Throughout the service, youth serve in many different roles—from ushers and greeters to lectors, musicians, worship assistants, and even preachers.
Youth Sunday gives our students the opportunity to step forward, grow in confidence, share their faith, and experience what it means to help lead the congregation in worship. It is a day filled with joy, celebration, and the unique voices and gifts of our young people.
Most of all, Youth Sunday reminds us that our youth aren't just the future of the church—they are an important part of the church right now.
