Trips & Events
During the year we take lots of trips and host various events. From pilgrimages around the world, skiing in West Virginia to confirmation class we have a lot of ways for students to be involved here at St. Peter's!
Summer Mission Trip
June 23rd-29th | Orlando, FL
This year we are partnering with Give Kids the World (GKTW) in Orlando, FL. GKTW provides a week long fun experience with theme park-like attractions to kids who are critically ill. We will help serve meals, work in their all day ice cream shop, and run events, and attractions. Our lodging is at St. Luke's UMC for the week. The final day, Friday will be spent at one of the theme parks of the teams choosing! Money should not be a reason for anyone not to go. Confidential scholarships are available by contacting Jacob Davis; firstname.lastname@example.org
Ski Trip (Registration Closed)
Each year we head to the slopes in Winterplace, WV over President's Day weekend in February. No experience is necessary, you can be ready for a black diamond or just getting on the bunny slopes. All gear can be rented at the lodge. Space is limited this year, so register early! Confidential scholarships are available.
2024 Ecuador Mission Trip
This Summer we're headed to Quito, Ecuador to work with our mission partners at Educatioin=Hope. This trip is open to current 10th-12th grade high school students. There is a large time commitment with fundraising and pre-trip meetings, so please consider your availability when committing to this trip. Registration closes on January 15th or when the trip is full. Registration link below.
Every other year, two confirmation classes (current and previous year's) combine for a spiritual pilgrimage abroad. The group fundraises for two years through poinsettia sales, a dinner series, and more. In previous years, we have gone to Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Spain, and Italy. Students who wish to participate in this journey must be baptized and confirmed, and make a commitment to this spiritual journey.
If your student is interested in participating in Pilgrimage, please contact Jacob; email@example.com for more information.
Each Spring the current 8th graders and any student in
9-12th grade gathers together weekly to explore our faith, ask questions, and build friendships as we consider what it means to express a commitment to Jesus in community together. Confirmation classes have already started this year. Please be on the lookout in the Fall of 2024 when registration will open for our next confirmation program.
OWL (Our Whole Lives)
OWL is a curriculum that grounds itself in supporting and nurturing the sexual health of students. This program model teaches care, compassion, respect, and justice through a holistic approach that moves toward addressing attitudes, values, and feelings students have about themselves.
All students 6th-12th grade are welcome. This program runs every other year and we meet for five weeks starting in the fall. Each evening begins with a shared meal before breaking into groups.
